In early 2022, I began schlepping my typewriter to the local farmer’s market with a tv tray and a sign that read “Poetry For Strangers”. Initially born from a desperate need for some extra cash, it was not long before I was writing dozens of poems a day.
Listening to the stories of my neighbors, having honest conversations with random passerbys, and writing down the music — this act tethered me to a city I had felt disconnected from for quite some time.
I now write on-the-spot custom poetry as my full-time gig. If you are interested in booking me for a gig, please email me at hmonsourpoetry@gmail.com. If you are interested in a poem, please visit the order page.
